If you’ve stumbled onto this page, I’m very surprised yet pleased.

I’m aiming to keep an active blog on this website to store my thoughts revolving around writing. It’s been a long time coming. I’ve been actively attempting to become one of the powerful beings known as an “author” for six years. During this time, I’ve begun and ended dozens of projects, and I even finished a very-not-so-good book that will not be seeing the light of day.

However, I now have one that’s nearly ready: Second Chance Magic.

There are a lot of unknowns. I have no idea if my book will have 5 readers or 5 million. Self-publishing involves a lot of luck and grit. Nothing is a guarantee. Still, I have to tell myself that it’s going to work out for the better. Without that optimistic sunshine view of the world, there’s no point in pursuing one’s dreams.

Where am I at in the process now?

• I’ve written and double-revised my manuscript.
• I’ve commissioned two beta readers and entrusted them with my work.
• I’ve selected an illustrator for the cover.

I’ve given myself a generous timeline, aiming for a release at the start of next year. After doing another round of revisions post-beta reader, I’ll be conscripting some of my friends to help read and review. It truly does take a village!

What’s next for this blog?

I’ll be discussing the process of preparing a book for self-publication, ruminating on what it takes to write a book, and showcasing bits and pieces of my debut. I’m hoping to dedicate enough time to post weekly for the time being.
